AGMA 5 EP, ISO VG 220 | Gear Lube | Syn (EP)

As far as gear lubricants go, few if any are better prepared to withstand extreme pressures, temperatures, and environmental conditions than AGMA 5 EP ISO VG 220, Synthetic (EP) Gear Lubricant. These lubricants contain the vastly increased performance characteristics of synthetic oils while also containing the additional Extreme-pressure additives (EP additives). These oils are thus inclined to work harder, last longer, and combat wear better than any other gear lubricant available - some machines may not be compatible with EP additives, so check with OEM specifications to determine which lubricant will work best with your machine.

ISO VG 220 oil has a midpoint kinematic viscosity of 220 mm2/s, also referred to as centistokes (cSt). The midpoint is derived by taking the average of both the minimum and maximum kinematic viscosities. In the case of ISO VG 220 oil, those numbers are 198 cSt and 242 cSt, respectively. AGMA 5 lubricants have a minimum viscosity of 198 mPa.s and a maximum viscosity of 242 mPa.s. These numbers refer to the standard testing mechanisms used to determine how much resistance to flow (i.e. viscosity) these oils demonstrate.
