Anti-Wear Hydraulic Oil (also known as AW hydraulic oil) prevents wear in hydraulic system pumps as well as carry away heat and debris from vital system components.
If your equipment calls for an "Anti-Wear" or "AW" hydraulic fluid, the equipment manufacturer is generally referring to a lubricant that contains a Zinc dialkyldithiophosphate (ZDDP) additive which gives added wear protection to the pump itself. Keep in mind, this still does not tell you the quality of the oil or the amount of Zinc additive it contains which are important factors to consider.
But before we determine the lubricant quality, the most important consideration to look at next is the thickness of the oil. Below we give options of Anti-Wear Hydraulic Fluids based on the International Standards Organization Viscosity Grade (ISO VG) which is the weight or thickness of the fluid. Select the oil viscosity weight below which is determined by the Original Equipment Manufacture. From there, PSC will help you decide the optimal hydraulic fluid for your application.
