ISO VG is the acronym for International Standards Organization Viscosity Grade, which is a classification system commonly used to establish relative viscosity measurements for industrial lubricants.
ISO VG 22 lubricants are employed in cold weather operations involving both industrial and mobile machinery but may also be applied to specific air tools (at needed points of lubrication) or in some spindles. It is important to check with OEM specifications to determine whether or not this weight of lubricant will be applicable for use in your spindle or air tool.
The midpoint kinematic viscosity of ISO VG 22 oils is measured in mm2/s which is synonymous with centistokes (cSt). This number is taken from an average of the minimum and maximum kinematic viscosities of any given lubricant.
