Food Grade Rust & Oxidation Oils are premium quality, ashless, food-grade lubricants specially developed for use in hydraulic systems, rotary air compressors, lightly to moderately-loaded enclosed gear drives and other machinery in food processing and beverage plant. These oils are registered by NSF International as H1 lubricants for use where incidental food contact may occur, and also as an H2 lubricant for use in applications where there is no chance for incidental food contact. Food Grade Rust & Oxidation Oil also meets Candian Food Inspection Agency requirements for use in federally registered food plants and is certified Kosher and Pareve. Some of these lubricants may also be used to lubricate heavily-loaded plain or rolling-element bearings.
ISO VG 46 oil has a midpoint kinematic viscosity of 46 mm2/s, also referred to as centistokes (cSt). The midpoint is derived by taking the average of both the minimum and maximum kinematic viscosities. In the case of ISO VG 46 oil, those numbers are 50.6 cSt and 41.4 cSt, respectively. These numbers refer to the standard testing mechanisms used to determine how much resistance to flow (i.e. viscosity) these oils demonstrate.
