Food-Grade Hydraulic Oils are designed for use in the food processing and packaging industry and meet USDA and/or FDA guidelines for incidental contact with food. These oils are registered by NSF International as H1 lubricants for use where incidental food contact may occur. Food grade hydraulic oils provide the lubrication characteristics required for food-industry machinery while providing no risk for contamination of food products. They are also certified as meeting Canadian Food Inspection Agency requirements for use in federally registered food plants. Additionally, these Food Grade Hydraulic Oils are certified Halal, Kosher and Pareve.
ISO VG 68 oil has a midpoint kinematic viscosity of 68 mm2/s, also referred to as centistokes (cSt). The midpoint is derived by taking the average of both the minimum and maximum kinematic viscosities. In the case of ISO VG 68 oil, those numbers are 61.2 cSt and 74.8 cSt, respectively. These numbers refer to the standard testing mechanisms used to determine how much resistance to flow (i.e. viscosity) these oils demonstrate.
