Synthetic Diester Compressor Oils are lab-engineered lubes intended for use in heavy-duty, reciprocating air compressors but are not recommended for air compressors that may be handling breathing air. Diester-based fluids are commonly used as a replacement for mineral oil-based lubes due to their increased ability to minimize friction regardless of temperature - this can be attributed to these oils' very high viscosity index. Also known as Dibasic Acid Ester, Diester has outstanding detergent qualities which work to remove debris and sludge.
Synthetic Diester Base Compressor Oil of the ISO VG 32 variety have a midpoint kinematic viscosity of 32 mm2/s (or cSt).
