Straight refers to the base fluids of these aviation lubricants, which are comprised of pure petroleum oils. Break-in oils are those used for new and repurposed aviation engines which require higher levels of friction for the first 24 or less hours of operation - these oils are not intended for use as an in-flight lubricant. These oils actually allow for minor wear to occur on the engine to properly prep the engine components for flight.
Straight 80 Grade Mineral, Break-in Oil may be used in four-stroke aircraft piston engines as well as antique aircraft.
