Industrial Grade, Water Based Gray Primer

The Industrial Grade, Water Based Gray Primer is our premium industrial grade water base rust preventative metal primer. This high-quality spray primer is formulated as a lead and chrome-free shop primer. The Industrial Grade, Water Based Gray Primer is an environmentally friendly, low VOC (Volatile Organic Content) primer for steel objects. The primer dries to touch in 30 minutes when applied at the recommended film thickness.  This primer meets the performance requirements of the Steel Structures Paint Council, Paint specification No. 25 and No. 7. The cure paint film meets SSPC Paint specification No. 15 and TT-P-664D.

Designed to provide long-lasting protection and durability, Industrial Grade, Water Based Gray Primer is rust inhibitive and will withstand 250 hours of 5% salt fog at 2 dry mils, and 100 hours at 1 dry mil as tested in accordance with ASTM B 117.It can also withstand 100 hours of water soak and UV exposure when tested according to ASTM D 4585.  Water Based spray primers are fast air drying, acrylic primers designed to protect structural steel in pre-construction outdoor exposure.  The high solids content ensures adequate protection of sharp edges, corners, and weld while maintaining extremely low VOC’s.  

This primer can be recoated after just one hour. The gray color of this primer provides an excellent base for further coating, ensuring the perfect finish every time.
