ISO VG 220 | Slide Way Lubricant

Slide ways are unique industrial machines that get their name from the slip and sliding action that these mechanisms constantly undertake. Since these machines have a unique purpose, they naturally have unique lubricants that are intended to eliminate problematic stick-slip issues which can plague machines and productivity. The slideway lubricants available here are uniquely designed to incorporate excellent film strengths with versatile base fluids - though these lubricants may only be applicable for one purpose (i.e. slide way lubrication), they are undoubtedly great at doing their job.

ISO VG 220 oil has a midpoint kinematic viscosity of 220 mm²/s, also referred to as centistokes (cSt). The midpoint is derived by taking the average of both the minimum and maximum kinematic viscosities. In the case of ISO VG 220 oil, those numbers are 198 cSt and 242 cSt, respectively. These numbers refer to the standard testing mechanisms used to determine how much resistance to flow (i.e. viscosity) these oils demonstrate.
