Chevron Cetus PAO 46 | 55 Gallon Drum

460.00 LBS

Chevron Cetus® PAO 46 synthetic air compressor oil, 55 gallon drum, is formulated with the highest quality polyalphaolefin (PAO) base stock and advanced additives for superior performance. This synthetic PAO lubricant meets the requirements of DIN 51506 VDL standard.

This Chevron synthetic compressor oil is formulated to provide excellent lubrication for a number of non-breathing air compressors, particularly both portable and stationary rotary sand screw compressors, as well as single-stage, two-stage, and multistage reciprocating compressors.

While specific manufacture recommendations vary, ISO 46 is most commonly used for rotary air compressors, while higher viscosity grades are preferred in reciprocating compressors. Because reciprocating compressors require both a crankcase lubricant and cylinder lubricant, this Chevron’s Cetus oil has been specifically formulated to meet this dual lubrication requirement.

Performance Characteristics

  • Superior thermal and oxidation stability
  • Promotes long machine life
  • Maximum compressor efficiency
  • Minimal maintenance and downtime
  • Low volatility
  • Ashless anti-wear properties

Cetus PAO synthetic lubricants have a high viscosity index (136), high flash point (482°F, 250°C), low pour point (-51°F, -46°C), exceptional hydrolytic stability, and are manufactured to meet requirements of modern higher output, more efficient air compressors. This product is also compatible with most elastomeric seal materials that are used with such mineral oil-based lubricants.

This synthetic compressor oil helps maintain valve cleanliness in modern compressors because it has excellent thermal and oxidation stability, as well as low carbon-forming tendencies.

Compared to mineral oil-based compressor lubricants, these synthetic oils have longer drain intervals and can help minimize recompression, maximize compressor efficiencies, which all help minimize overall maintenance costs.

This product is available in 5 gal. pails and 55 gal. drums.
