Chevron Cetus PAO 68 | 55 Gallon Drum

460.00 LBS

Chevron Cetus® PAO 68 synthetic air compressor oil, 55 gallon drum, is formulated with high quality polyalphaolefin (PAO) base stock and advanced additive technology to provide superior performance.

This product is formulated to provide excellent lubrication for many non-breathing air compressors, including both portable and stationary rotary sand screw compressors, as well as single-stage, two-stage, and multistage reciprocating compressors.

Cetus PAO 68 has been especially developed for the lubrication of turbochargers in marine diesel engines, where two separate lubricating oil systems are in place. This lubricant also meets the requirements of DIN 51506 VDL standard and is approved for ABB VTR turbochargers.

Although specific manufacture recommendations will vary, ISO 68 is usually used for rotary air compressors, while higher viscosity grade oils are frequently preferred in reciprocating compressors. Chevron’s Cetus oil is specially formulated to meet the dual lubrication requirement of reciprocating compressors.

Performance Characteristics

  • Excellent thermal and oxidation stability
  • Extends machine life
  • Maximum compressor efficiency
  • Minimal maintenance and downtime
  • Low volatility
  • Ashless anti-wear properties

This Cetus PAO synthetic oil has a high viscosity index (141), high flash point (468°F, 240°C), low pour point (-53°F, -47°C), excellent hydrolytic stability, and is manufactured to meet the requirements of modern air compressors that have higher output and efficiency. This product is also compatible with most elastomeric seal materials that are used with such mineral oil-based lubricants.

This synthetic compressor lubricant helps maintain valve cleanliness in modern compressors because it has excellent thermal and oxidation stability, as well as low carbon-forming tendencies, which helps prevent deposit buildup in high temperatures.

Compared to mineral oil-based compressor lubricants, these synthetic oils have longer drain intervals and can help minimize recompression, maximize compressor efficiencies, which all help minimize overall maintenance costs.

This product is available in 5 gal. pails and 55 gal. drums.
