Description

Rust and Oxidation Oils are commonly used as general purpose lubricants in various applications throughout industrial plants and in various machinery both industrial and mobile. These oils have excellent resistance to rust and corrosion formation and may be applicable for use in numerous compressor types, geared turbines, gearboxes, circulation systems, and many lightly-loaded industrial applications. These same oils may also be referred to as a bearing oil, used primarily to lubricate heavily-loaded bearings of both the plain and rolling-element variety.

ISO VG 100 oil has a midpoint kinematic viscosity of 100 mm²/s, also referred to as centistokes (cSt). The midpoint is derived by taking the average of both the minimum and maximum kinematic viscosities. In the case of ISO VG 100 oil, those numbers are 90.0 cSt and 110.0 cSt, respectively. These numbers refer to the standard testing mechanisms used to determine how much resistance to flow (i.e. viscosity) these oils demonstrate.
