Phillips 66 X/C Aviation Oil 25W-60 is an ashless dispersant, multigrade engine oil specially formulated for year-round use in aircraft piston engines. It provides distinct performance benefits compared with single-grade engine oils, including easier starting and faster oil circulation at low temperatures, reduced warm-up time, and reduced oil consumption in most engines.

This oil maintains its film strength under high loads and at high temperatures to protect against wear and piston scuffing. The ashless dispersant formulation helps minimize the formation of engine sludge, varnish, piston deposits and combustion chamber deposits, resulting in a much cleaner engine compared with the use of straight (nondispersant) mineral oils.

This product was the first FAA-approved mineral oil-based, ashless dispersant, multiviscosity aviation engine oil. It has more than 30 years of outstanding, proven performance in a wide variety of aviation uses, including flight schools, charter and cargo airlines, acrobatic aircraft, spray planes, race planes and virtually any other general aviation application. It is available throughout the United States and is exported to other countries around the world.

Benefits

  • Ashless dispersant helps minimize engine sludge and varnish deposits for a cleaner engine
  • Easier starting and faster oil circulation at low temperatures compared with single-grade oils
  • Reduced warm-up time and cooler operating temperatures compared with single-grade oils
  • High film strength for protection against wear and piston scuffing, even under high-load conditions, such as takeoff, and at elevated operating temperatures
  • Provides cleaner and quicker break-in than traditional all-mineral, non-additized, single-grade oils
  • Protects against rust and corrosion
  • Reduces oil consumption in most engines
  • Suitable for year-round use

Application

This oil is recommended for use in radial piston engines and in other aviation piston engines originally designed to run on heavier-grade oils, such as Commercial Grade 120.

This product is recommended for use during break-in and then as the operational oil until TBO.

    SUMMER OIL

Posted by DAVE on Jul 11 2019

I USE THIS FOR MY HARLEY IN THE SUMMER MONTHS HERE IN TEXAS. NOT A PRATT AND WHITNEY 18 BUT CLOSE ENOUGH IN CONCEPT. I FEEL IT IS SUPERIOR TO ANYTHING SOLD BY HD AND MOST 4 STROKE OILS. WITH THE ADDITIVES NECESSARY TO PROTECT AT THE HIGH TEMPERATURES I ENCOUNTER.

    Great oil

This radial engine oil can be used in any engine and has a broad range. This is particularly useful in the northern states with its wide temperature variation. No other oil does this. PSC is very competitive, I cannot find this oil any cheaper.

PSC delivered product at a great rate early

First time buyer from PSC. I will continue to come back to PSC for my radial oil. They offer it at an excellent price even after shipping and the product arrived a day early. Very impressed so far.

    Great oil, great supplier.

I use 25/60 in my radial and really like it. However, this delivery had screw tops that were not tight and both bottles leaked about a cup of oil in shipping, a real mess.

    Clean Side Down!

Posted by Bob W. on Feb 02 2018

Started using Phillips 66 X/C Aviation Oil 25W-60 in my C195 with the Jacobs 275hp five years ago. I change oil every 20/25 hours (no oil filter is installed) and my oil consumption has gone down dramatically and have very little belly cleanup after a 6 to 8 hour flight.

    Round engines require the best

Posted by James on Mar 27 2017

Phillips 25w60 is the only oil for my Jacobs engine. Because I have a turbo, it has to be clean and filtered. I change oil and filter every 25 hours.

    Great Value!

Posted by Aaron Smith on Oct 26 2016

Buying the oil by the gallon offered us a better value and meets our needs for oil consumption by our aircraft engine. PSC was the best price we could find including the charge for shipping. Shipping was a couple days slower than expected. Otherwise, we are very satisfied.
