Tectyl 282 is a water displacing, solvent cutback, and oil concentrate rust preventive compound and penetrant formulated to deliver exceptional lubrication and corrosion protection to ferrous and non-ferrous (iron & non-iron) industrial parts for a wide range of industrial metalworking applications reliant on metallic components or equipment.
Designed to be mixed or diluted to 25% solids within aliphatic solvents (mineral spirits) , this premium general purpose corrosion inhibitor deposits an oily and transparent film that is non-staining, suitable for both transit and indoor parts storage.

Tectyl 282 provides a perfect combination of intense lubrication and rust prevention properties from the oil while its water displacing properties work to penetrate tight spaces and effectively displace harmful moisture.
Protects metal components on vehicles like vehicle undercarriages from road salt and moisture, marine equipment from saltwater corrosion, and overall metallic machinery from rust or other forms of corrosion.  

With easy surface application via dip, Tectyl 282 is moderately viscous and cures to form an oily, clear, and non-staining protective film that, at the recommended dry-film thickness (DFT), delivers remarkable water displacement and advanced resistance to rust.

Product Uses:

• An oil-concentrate and water-displacing rust preventive compound, lubricant, and penetrant suitable for transit and indoor storage of parts.
• Provides powerful rust prevention, lubricity, and water-resistance for a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metallic applications.
• Primarily designed to be diluted in aliphatic solvents (mineral spirits) to 25% solids for optimal product performance.
• Deposits a clear and oily, non-staining protective film coating that can hardly be seen or felt after it is cured.
• At the recommended dry film thickness (DFT), the water displacing compound delivers fast and powerful protection against corrosion by effectively penetrating tight spaces.
• Requiring only a thin film, this protective water-resistant film is a perfect economical option as it requires much less product to protect a significantly larger area.

Product Performance:

• When applied at the recommended wet film thickness over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness of 0.10 mils.
• Covers 2,250 square ft. per gallon when applied at the recommended film thickness.
• Cures in 2-3 hours.
