Shell Omala S4 GXV 460 is an advanced synthetic heavy duty industrial gear oil. Omala is a line of Lubricants manufactured by Shell that are extra high performing gear oils known for their high load-carrying capabilities and their protection against micro-pitting. S4 is a superior level of synthetic base oils that provide significantly better thermal and oxidation stability over convention mineral oils. GXV refers to gear oils that are formulated with Extreme Pressure (EP) additives to protect gear teeth under extreme pressure and shock loading. 460 represents the thickness of the oil which is an International Standards Organization Viscosity Grade (ISO VG) 460.
