Tectyl 506EH Extra-Heavy General-Purpose Corrosion Inhibitor Compound for Long-Term Storage and Shipping with UV Protection

Tectyl 506EH is an extra-heavy (EH) version of the premium corrosion inhibitor, Tectyl 506.
Tectyl 506EH’s extra-heavy nature provides higher concentrations of the inhibitor compound for a much more substantial thick and durable protective surface layer.

Tectyl 506EH is an extra-heavy, solvent-based, general-purpose corrosion inhibitor compound formulated specifically to provide maximum protection against moisture and corrosion in long-term storage or shipping for a wide range of applications in the industrial, automotive, marine, and transportation sectors.

Like Tectyl 506, Tectyl 506EH also has excellent UV protection protecting machinery, engine blocks, and parts from corrosion in long-term indoor/outdoor storage as well as during domestic and international shipments.
Tectyl 506EH will ultimately cure to an amber or caramel-color presenting a resilient, firm, and flexible wax-like film that is non-tacky for improved adhesiveness.

Product Uses

• Caramel-Colored, Extra Heavy, General-Purpose Corrosion Inhibiting Coating designed for vehicle rustproofing as well as maximum protection against moisture, weathering and corrosion for steel and wood substrates in a wide range of applications.
• Widely used for rustproofing railroad axles and vehicle cavities.
• Protects highly polished cold rolled steel and paper calendaring mill rolls during shipping, and turbine steam path parts during shipping and installation periods.
• Effective protection of used transportation equipment with less than perfect substrates.
• Can be removed with mineral spirits or a similar petroleum solvent, hot alkaline wash, or low-pressure steam.

Product Performance:

• When applied at the recommended wet film thickness of 4-6 mils over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness of 2-3 mils.
• Dry to touch in 1-2 hour(s), weather resistant after 2 hours, and fully cured after 24 hours.
• High Temperature Flow Point Minimum of 320°F means elevated temperatures don’t end in undercoating on your garage or driveway floor.
• Covers 180 square feet per gallon when applied at the recommended film thickness.
• Can provide up to 1.5 years of protection of outdoor storage on metal and wood substrates at the recommended dry film thickness.

Application Equipment Recommendations: 

• Pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater are advised for efficient use of container content.
• Tungsten Carbide Nozzles Tip in the spray gun is recommended. (.015" to .019" tip orifice size)
• High Pressure Fluid Hose of no less than 3/8 in. diameters is suggested for less than 50 ft. of material hose.
• Low Ratio pumps (15-30:1): operate through 100 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 150 ft. 
• High Ratio pumps(>30:1): operate through 200 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 250 ft. 
• Can also be applied via brush or dip.
