Tectyl 506EH-WD Extra-Heavy and Water-Displacing Amber Corrosion Inhibitor Compound for Long-Term Storage and Shipping

Tectyl 506EH-WD is a water-displacing version of the premium extra-heavy corrosion inhibitor compound Tectyl 506EH.
Tectyl 506EH-WD’s extra-heavy nature ensures a thick and durable protective surface barrier while the water displacement repels water to prevent moisture-related corrosion.

Tectyl 506EH-WD is a solvent-based, general-purpose corrosion preventive compound designed for specialized protection against moisture, chloride, and corrosion in machinery and parts for long-term indoor/outdoor storage or during domestic/overseas shipping.
Like Tectyl 506EH, Tectyl 506EH-WD has excellent UV protection to protect machinery, engine blocks, and parts from corrosion during long-term outdoor exposure.

Tectyl 506EH-WD cures to an amber, caramel-color exhibiting a resilient, firm, and flexible wax-like film that is non-tacky for improved adhesiveness.

Product Uses

• Amber, Caramel-Colored General-Purpose Chloride Resistant Coating designed for maximum protection against moisture, chloride, and corrosion for steel and wood substrates in a wide range of applications.
• Suitable for vehicle rustproofing, protecting machinery and parts in indoor/outdoor storage as well as during domestic and international shipments.
• Widely used for rustproofing railroad axles.
• Water-Displacing characteristic helps to efficiently protect metal or wood surfaces in especially humid or wet environments, such as marine or coastal areas, where moisture is abundant.
• Effective protection of used transportation equipment with less than perfect substrates.

Product Performance:

• When applied at the recommended wet film thickness of 5-6 mils over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness of 2-3 mils.
• Dry to touch in 1-2 hour(s), weather resistant after 2 hours, and fully cured after 24 hours.
• High Temperature Flow Point Minimum of 320°F means elevated temperatures don’t end in undercoating on your garage or driveway floor.
• Covers 180 square feet per gallon when applied at the recommended film thickness.
• Can provide up to 1.5 years of protection of outdoor storage on metal and wood substrates at the recommended dry film thickness.

Application Equipment Recommendations: 

• Pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater are suggested for efficient use of container content.
• Tungsten Carbide Nozzles Tip in the spray gun is recommended. (.015" to .019" tip orifice size)
• High Pressure Fluid Hose of no less than 3/8 in. diameters is suggested for less than 50 ft. of material hose.
• Low Ratio pumps (15-30:1): operate through 100 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 150 ft. 
• High Ratio pumps(>30:1): operate through 200 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 250 ft. 
• Can also be applied via brush or dip.
