Tectyl 7192 Non-Flammable, White/Tan, Water-Based Corrosion Inhibiting Rustproofing Cavity Wax

Tectyl 7192 is a premium water-based, rustproofing cavity wax compound cutback with mineral spirits designed for protecting automobiles from internal damage due to corrosion or rust.
Non-flammable and contains miniscule VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), ideal for applications requiring low toxicity and safer handling in higher temperatures for automotive primed and unprimed surfaces.

This rust-proofing compound has a thin gel, but low viscosity that allows for film build on vertical surfaces and for seam penetration (capillary action) into areas with metal-to-metal overlap.

Tectyl 7192 is usually spray applied using a wand or hose that allows the user to spray deep inside car doors, frames, and various other voids. Once cured, the white liquid dries to form a wax-like, tan film that will effectively repel water, can self-heal, all whist maintaining sufficient flexibility (resisting cracking and adhesion loss) in temperatures as low as -30 °C.

When applied as an undercoating or rustproofing compound, Tectyl 7192 premium corrosion preventive compound wax leaves behind a long-term protective film that provides outstanding rust protection for enclosed automobile body sections or transportation equipment.

Product Performance:

• Firm wax-like film that will repel water, self-heal, and remain flexible (resisting cracking and adhesive loss) at low temperatures.
• When applied at the recommended wet film thickness of 12-14 mils over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness of 5-6 mils.
• Dry to touch in 1 hour when sprayed at 5 mils wet, weather resistant after 8 hours, and fully cured after 24 hours.

Application Equipment Recommendations: 

• Pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater are advised for efficient use of container content.
• Tungsten Carbide Nozzles Tip in the spray gun is recommended. (.017" to .025" tip orifice size)
• High Pressure Fluid Hose of no less than 3/8 in. diameters is suggested for less than 50 ft. of material hose.
• Low Ratio pumps (15-30:1): operate through 100 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 150 ft.
• High Ratio pumps(>30:1): operate through 200 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 250 ft.
