Tectyl 802A is a Qualified Products Listed (QPL) for Govt. Designation MIL-PRF-3150E, QPL Reference Number L-658 (Replacing Military Specification MIL-L-3150D).
This specification covers one grade of high-quality preservative lubricating oils intended for effective preservation of metals and delivering strong lubricant capabilities for light loads. Not applicable for protecting interior surfaces of internal combustion engines.

Tectyl 802A is a highly refined mineral based, medium viscosity, lubricating oil blended with additives for rust/corrosion inhibition as well as premium water displacement characteristics.
This long term rust preventative oil coating is formulated specifically to deliver lasting protection for both ferrous (iron-containing) and non-ferrous (no-iron) alloys when they require quality water resistance and durable corrosive protection.

Designed to resist evaporation in high temperature and humid surroundings, this premium preservative lubricating oil also works as a strong and reliable general purpose and ordinance lubricant for finished or unfinished metal surfaces.
Tectyl 802A delivers versatile temperature stability and effective protection from corrosion and moisture-related rust making this high quality preservative oil a safe bet to adequately protect your metal substrates from corrosion in harsher and unstable environments without issue.

Product Uses

• Water Resistant Lubricating Oil and Corrosion Inhibitor coating blended with additives for enhanced corrosion prevention and water displacement characteristics, designed for effectively protecting ferrous (iron-containing)/non-ferrous (no-iron) metals and transportation equipment assemblies from moisture and corrosion in highly corrosive environments.
• Qualified Products Listed (QPL) approved under Mil-Spec, MIL-PRF-3150E, QPL Reference Number L-6584.
• Effective water resistant general purpose/ordinance lubricant that prevents corrosion.
• Designed for application to steel strips after pickling, temper rolling, galvanizing, and after processing before storage.
• Offers compatibility with temper mill coolants and one-phase oil based coating oils.
• Protects interior surfaces and components of gear assemblies, automotive transmissions, and differentials.
• Tectyl 802A is NOT recommended for outdoor exposure.

Product Performance:

• When applied at the recommended wet film thickness of 0.5 mils over the surface profile, it will deposit the recommended dry film thickness of 0.4 mils.
• Covers 818 square ft. per gallon when applied at the recommended film thickness.
• Covers 3,890 square ft. per gallon when applied at the recommended film thickness of 0.4 mils.
• Can provide up to 2 years of Indoor or undercover protection on metal substrates at the recommended dry film thickness (DFT).

Application Equipment Recommendations: 

• Pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater are advised for efficient use of container content.
• Tungsten Carbide Nozzles Tip in the spray gun is recommended. (.011" to .015" tip orifice size)
• High Pressure Fluid Hose of no less than 3/8 in. diameters is suggested for less than 50 ft. of material hose.
• Low Ratio pumps (15-30:1): operate through 100 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 150 ft.
• High Ratio pumps(>30:1): operate through 200 ft. of 1/2 in & 50 ft. of 3/8 in. hose for a max of 250 ft. 
• Can be applied via spray, brush, slush, dip, felt wiper, and electrostatic oiler.
