Tectyl 506, is a solvent cutback corrosion preventive compound from Valvoline designed for protection of metallic surfaces against corrosion in long-term indoor or outdoor exposure and during domestic and overseas shipment. The dry film is firm, amber, and translucent. It is the ultimate protection for long-term storage or shipping of manufactured cast and forged steel roles used in various rolling industries.

It will not stain silver or silver plated metals based on silver corrosion tests described in MIL-C-16173

Tectyl 506 is an outstanding firm film coating for protecting Metal Forms and forming rings use in manufacturing of concrete pipes

    Awesomeness in a bucket

Posted by Joey B on Nov 23 2017

WOW!!! why didnt I find this stuff years ago. This stuff is the real deal, it is a bit messy going on but once dry its not sticky or running continously. The smell does take some time to dissipate, probably dependent upon how much and where it was applied. I call it the smell of protection. Excellent product.

    FAR better than Fluid Film

Posted by Scott on Nov 22 2017

this stuff is awesome, it dries to a thick cosmoline like wax and really protects the metal well without making the car a huge disgusting mess to work on later like fluid film or oil does, it does not attract dirt, bugs, pine needles etc. it also holds up to washing far better than FF or bar & chain oil
